Rules

Kandora Reveal Timing
When any kind of kan is declared, a new kandora indicator is flipped immediately (unless another player wins on the kan declaration).

Suu Kaikan
If two or more players form a total of four kantsu during the same hand, the hand ends after the player who called the fourth kan, safely discards a tile. If a single player has called four kan, no more kan can be called.

Nagashi Mangan
Nagashi Mangan is not considered to be a win but merely a bonus, meaning that it does not affect whether there will be a renchan. Nagashi Mangan is always worth of mangan and honba does not affect this value. After Nagashi Mangan, honba increases by one. There's no Nōten Bappu if at least one player got Nagashi Mangan.

Sekinin Barai / Pao
Sekinin Barai / Pao rule is applied to Daisangen and Daisuushii. The discarder pays the honba when the sekinin barai rule is applied.

Riichi Sticks and Honba
We always use point sticks (tenbou) for keeping the score.
• In the case of double/triple ron each winner who has declared riichi gets his/her riichi stick back. The extra riichi sticks and honba payments are collected by the first player to the discarder's right.
• If there are still Riichi stakes on the table at the end of the game, then they are claimed by the overall winner.

Other Notes
Pon/kan trumps chii if called at the same time, otherwise the first call stands. Ron trumps anything, even if called slightly late.
If the winning hand would yield different amount of points depending on how the tiles are arranged, the most valuable arrangement must be chosen.

Manners & Penalties
• If a player declares a false win or is not in tenpai in ryuukyoku (exhaustive draw) when he/she has declared riichi, a penalty equal to a mangan is paid (chombo).
• If a player has an illegal number of tiles in his/her hand, the hand is considered dead for the rest of the round/kyoku. You can't make any calls with a dead hand.
• If you are about to draw a tile and you are already holding it, you can't take the draw back and make a call instead.
• After east/oya has rolled the dice, he/she should start drawing the tiles from the right place in the wall and then take the dice. The player whose wall was chosen doesn't have the responsibility to cut the wall (the east/oya has the responsibility).
• When the wall is cut, the player whose wall was chosen has the responsibility to put down the first rinshan tile (kan draw) and flip the dora.
